Since late 1989 the Kashmir problem has become intimately linked to the larger question of war and peace in South Asia. A virtual insurrection among Kashmiri Muslims in the Valley, and in Srinagar, the largest city in the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir-created a serious crisis between New Delhi and Islamabad.
It would be important to remember here that the party leadership has had personal relations with Joe Biden since he was a Senator Joe Biden who was allegedly responsible, at that time, for overseeing the ongoing drone program in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Let’s recall our memories of a speech of a senior Pak Army official that he delivered as the chief guest at a military educational institution in Rawalpindi on India’s Republic Day in 2014, asserting that India poses no greater threat to Pakistan but extremism/terrorism does.
The reasons of split between Rawalpindi and Banigala, leading to Imran Khan’s ouster from power remain a mystery to many while it is an established fact that Rawalpindi and Aabpara, jointly, paved Imran Khan’s way to the power in the first place. Before explaining the genesis of the split, it is imperative to note that Rawalpindi and Aabpara are two different entities with usual professional rivalry that, occasionally, reaches to conformation.
India may have learnt a thing or two from the Jewish state, but has taken the pain therapy to such sublime depths that even the Pakistanis can be numbed before the next dose is administered.
There seems to be an endeavor to prove that we can do without Kashmir and it should not be central to our relations with India. People have quoted from history, that it was we who invaded in 1948, sending in tribesmen into Kashmir and that India was justified in sending troops at the request of the Maharaja and Hyderabad was offered in exchange etc.
The international community has a moral obligation to speak up but will not; morality is not a factor in the affairs of the world. Pakistan needs to present a narrative to the world but it is too incompetent to do it and displays criminal indifference to the matter.
